Hearing Aid Pricing and Sales!
Hearing Aid Pricing!
We have noticed a recent trend in hearing aid advertising. Our competitors are offering huge discounts, sometimes as much as 50% off. The misleading part of these ads is that it references Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Pricing. In other words they are using an intentionally inflated price that nobody in the country uses for pricing. This makes it feel like the patient is getting an unbelievable “deal” when in reality it is still not a fair price.
We use standard business practices to set our hearing aid prices. In today’s economic environment we continually evaluate our pricing model to make sure our patients are receiving maximum value and performance from their hearing aids. Included in our pricing strategy is the cost of the product from the manufacturer, office overhead such as rent and personnel, follow up appointments that are included at no charge, advertising, and of course enough profit to stay in business.
We have also chosen manufacturing partners that offer a variety of price points that allow us to offer better hearing for just about any budget. As we tell our patients all the time …”our job is to make you hear as best we can within the budget you need to stay within.” And with today’s technology we can certainly help just about any hearing loss.
While price is important recent studies show that who fits the hearing aids is even more important in determining a successful hearing aid fitting. All the Audiologists at Hearing Doctors of Georgia have earned their Doctor of Audiology degree from major universities. We feel like we are the most qualified in the area at serving the needs of those with hearing loss.
So next time you see hearing aid ads that reference MSRP please remember that this is not really a great deal after all!
